Default Transmission installation problem

I'm almost done with a automatic to manual conversion on a 95dx hatch. (I'm using a 99 ex tranny.) I got everything put together to drive it off and i tried to put it in gear. It slid into 1-5 alright, kinda resisted, but it won't go into reverse. It grinds when i try. It seems to me that the clutch isn't disengaging obviously, but what could cause this? Has anyone had this problem before when installing. Please help, i'm trying to get this thing running!

It's all the way to the end of the thread on the master cylinder, i even pushed the throw out bearing rod all the way over with a lever and it still didn't go into reverse. Any suggestions?
