Default tranny or clutch?

my 92 gsr was acting funny this morning. I was cruising in 4th gear about 40 mph and was coming up to a sharp turn so I down shifted to 3rd, But it would not go in so I tried 2nd.still nothing. I was at 20 mph when decided to put it back to fourth and it engages but with a loud klunck sound. I pulled over and shut the engine off open the hood to look for who knows what. a few minutes went pass I got back in the car and started back home. I took of normal 2 miles down another turn approached It did the exact same thing same results. I made it home and here I a now trying to get some feedback on what you guys think. TRAnnY or CLUTch

when I push the pedal to the floor(which I thought it was all the way down) right before it re-engaged, the the pedal came down about two more inches. My wife has been driving it and told me a couple of days ago and she had a problem getting it into third. I dunno man I hope its the clutch not the tranny

If you have a stock 92 tranny, then it is a cable tranny, inspect and adjust the cable, it could be stretching or snagging. Also check your MTF.

Maybe one of the springs on the clutch broke. Same EXACT thing happened to my friend this Tuesday. Check it out, may be the problem.

I just finished draining and putting new mtf in and I got the same results, but as I was in the garage after my test drive I heard a funny noise as i pressed the clutch pedal in Neutral. I thought it sounded like a broken spring too but would that cause the car to act this way. It feels like the clutch disc is not lined up. man this is killing me!

dont mean to thread jack but im having a similar problem...
my problem in when shifting into third it grinds when driving. if i let go of the gas and let the rpm's drop, then shift, it doesnt grind. when driving normal it does.
i dont know if its my clutch or my tranny (gears)...
