Default Runnin CTR Pistons in B18B or JDM B16A pistons? Help.

I can't decide to go with the CTR pistons B16B in my B18B block or should I go with the JDM B16A. I know the CTR will raise my compression to to about 12:2 and the JDM b16A will raise it to about 11:8 but I need help deciding..I want more horse power!

CTR

You gotta love high compression B-Series motors if they are tuned right!

i hope you know a REALLY good tuner and have HUGE cams. those are the only 2 ways you can get away with c/r that high and not detonate the crap out of it. otherwise stick with PR3 or P30.

BTW, search on this. it seems we cover this issue about every week.

Huge cams are a bit of a catch 22 in this situation... he's really gotta watch piston to valve clearance.

BTW, you'll be closer to 12.5:1 with CTR pistons. I run them in my all motor LS.

EDIT: I believe you'll be lower than 11.8:1 with j b16 pistons.

yeah, well. taller pistons raise compression ratio, bigger cams reduce compression ratio. then again, taller pistons decrease piston-to-valve clearance, and bigger cams reduce the clearance as well. aftermarket pistons are the solution, since they can have unlimited valve pockets. but if you're not putting in enough money to get aftermarket pistons, you probably don't belong even thinking about PCT (CTR) pistons.
