Default Beaks ITR Rear Swaybar Kit on a EK???

Hi everyone, just curious about the beaks kit for the EK. I have heard its a great kit and will keep the swaybar from breaking off the car or may i say tearing off the car. But then i have heard the New Suspension Technique 19mm Rear Sway Bar, Part# 51145 is the best. Can anyone help me out, which one is better and most important safest?? thanks

I am running the S/T 19mm. I also run the front bar. While I can't comment on the "safety" of the bar, because I've never had a subframe tear out, I can say that it is a great bar. I am no suspension expert but afaik, running a higher rate spring along with the sway bar will lessen the chances of subframe tear out. Of course, you could always get the ASR subframe brace with the provided sway and never have to worry about it. HTH.

I have a Beaks kit on my EK (ok, so it's in the garage, I'll install it this week). I got it used and it came with a free chunk of subframe Looking at the chunk it looks like the thing came loose as the mounting holes are out of round. I also noticed that it had Grade 5 bolts!! I'll be installing it with some new Grade 8 bolts and I'll be checking it from time to time to make sure it's still torqued and to see if there's any wear on the subfram holes.

There have been a few tearouts with beaks, but there have also been a lot of people running the kit with no issues at all. -

You might want to get some thread lock and some lock nuts so it wont back out.

I made my own custom kit (like beaks, but better). its made of steel and has a wide surface area so the pressure is distributed to a wider area.

btw i have a CTR rear sway bar (made for ek).

got any pics? I was looking into making something myself. How far away from the subframe did you space the sway bar?

I'll snap some pictures or try to find some on my laptop/pc.

The ASR Bar take care of both. It adds rigidity and lateral support.
