What sensor is this? Possible Vacuum leak?

anyone know what sensor this is? Looks like someone blacked it off with a piece of a pepsi can
cause this cause a vacuum leak?
looks like the coolant area below the throttle body. It wont do much for you.
People will sometimes route the coolant lines AWAY from the throttle body to help cool intake temps, but it's neglible on daily drivers.
What was done on yours is most likely a useless job unless they did it as a temporary gasket.

it's probably to make the fast idle valve nonfunctional.probably to cure the erratic/high idle problem they can cause.
the o-rings that seal the valve to the throttle body are on the valve,so there is a possibility that the piece of soda can isn't sealing against the TB,causing a vacuum leak.
remove the piece of aluminum,and ensure that the FIV is in proper adjustment,the re-install without the can:
