rougher?? I don't know what that means.

dirt, dust and sand inside my engine is what killed it.

last tune up? oil-change?, is your timing ok?, how are your engine mounts looking? ive had the same ls engine for 2 years i got it at 127k miles and its now got 172k miles and all of those miles ive redlined numerous times a day, the only problem that engine had was the person before me burned 2 exhaust valves in cylider 3 and the machine shop he got the work done at used the old valve seals and also hot-tanked the head, so all the seal were toast. the engine smoked(blue)alot at idle and start up. i fixed the seals and no problems since....other than the normal aged engine problems(a knock here and there)

recent valve adjustment done? not having the valve clearances in spec can cause the engine to be rough.

yea check your cat out, i had a clogged cat and it made a world of difference once it was off....no more rough idle...no nothing...lol well before you go and replace the cat, try and run seafoam through the engine and see if that helps
