Default EG6 rear speakers.

i have a 92 dx that did not come from the factory with rear speaker. i got tired of listening to music with only 2 speakers, so i popped open the panel the other day. it looks like there is a bracket for a speaker(i could be mistaken). im sure someones put speakers in the back of their hatch before. any sugestions of what speakers to use would be helpful. pic would be nice. thanks for any and all help.

i just ordered some rear speaker brackets on ebay, i was thinking of just cutting a music note design into my blank panels, and if i dont like it ill look for some factory speaker panels. anybody else custom their grills/brackets/etc?

perhaps just cut slits into your current panels so that it looks like the ones the honda dealer sells or if ur stuck on the idea of a music note.. use a fabric on one side so its just not a hole .

I have installed speakers as big 6x9s back there, I make custom MDF mounting brackets, as big as possible, [and with a little work, you can just about enclose that whole area back there] then get stock grills or drill/cut holes in the dummy plates and cover with grill cloth, works like a dream sounds great, and looks stock.
The customized panels that rlockwood posted look great, but as they are mounted to a plastic panel, [rear 1/4 trim] and unless somehow braced, [and I don't know they aren't] there would be a lot of movement on them, [for every action......] and that can lead to a significant loss in output, [SPL] and higher F3 point, [bass response].
Normally when we do systems in that car, [or any car for that matter] we install mid range/mid bass drivers in the rear, [no tweeters] and on that car, and others, there is enough room back there to build MDF and fiberglass cabinets and install small subs or mid bass drivers and get very low F3 points, I have done so on my 94 teg. and all I have is a set of 6.5" Eclipse 2ways, with the tweeter disconnected, I run no amps, [other then the internal HU one] or subs. 94
