Default Whats Wrong with my o2 sensor??

ok, i have a 94 hatch vx w/ b16a3 obd1 p28 setup. my cel has alway turned on after driving it for like 5min. i checked the ecu code. it blinks one quick time, meaning code 1 = o2 sensor. so i replaced my o2 sensor (4 wire) with a new one. the cel still came on after that. so i thought maybe its still wired for the stock 5 wire o2 sensor. and i would need to convert it. but then i looked at the o2 connecter (on the engine harness side) and its 4 wire over there as well. so now im just lost and dont know where else to look. my mpg sucks and i need to get this fixed asap.
