del sol studdering
Ok, heres the deal:
I just swapped a CTR motor into my 97 del sol about 2 months ago. Ran fine for the first month and then began to misfire, bad. So i replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor. Then the problem went away.
Last week the car started studdering, not misfiring, but studdering. So i put in fuel injector cleaner, and replaced the fuel filter, checked plugs and everything... everything was ok, from what i could see. But it is still studdering, it is also not throwing codes. It studders only when it is warm and at around 2500- 4000 rpms. What is really weird is it studders only when i don't beat on the car. But when i rip on the car, the problem will go away for 10-15 mins. Then return just as bad. Car still seams to have full power, and VTEC works. Any ideas on what it could be? Maybe something to do with the cat? the cat does have 150,000 miles on it. Any ideas, let me know, thanks.
Setup:
97 del sol with CTR motor
AUTO to MANUAL conversion (maybe that has something to do with it)
running an ITR ecu, couldnt get ahold of a CTR ecu.
Only motor mods: Intake, Exhaust, no header or aftermarket cat.
