Yo... Just thought I'd post a couple quick notes about about the installation of Skunk 2 Coilovers and Skunk 2 cat back. This is not my car, it's a friends, I just do all the wrenching... This was my first time under an RSX.

Catback: My first impression was how big the exhaust manifold collector was going into the cat... my god it's huge... Its no wonder catbacks make lots of power on these cars. Anyway, the catback was super easy, all the bolts were easy to get too. The fitment was very good. The exhaust with out the silencer was VERY loud, with the silencer, not too bad. On the freeway w/silencer it was very reasonable... There was a definate power increase. Felt good.

Coil Overs: I hate coil overs. What a pain. The instructions recommend cutting of the bottom spring perch in the front for maximum adjustability. I didn't do this. We weren't gonna slam the car. The fronts were very easy to put in. I was supprised that I had to pop the steering linkage off, but it wasn't that hard. 5 bolts on the front... pretty easy. The rears were only 3 bolts, pretty easy as well. Putting the threaded sleeve on the rears with the o-rings was a PAIN!!!

I used a spring compressor on the fronts, but not on the backs. There is very little pressure on the back springs.

Adjusting the coilovers was a pain. The fronts weren't too bad, but the back were a super pain to adjust. I put the center of the fenders at 25.75 inches all around. In 2 weeks I'm gonna readjust them and lower it more. I didn't want to lower the car too much before I see how much the springs break in.
