Default To buy a cable or hydraulic b16

I did some searching and reading up between the cable and hydraulic transmissions (the b16's in particular). Seems that some like the hydraulic version better, but their is no reasoning. Only, "from experiance, the hydro is better". What makes one of the transmissions better than the other. There is a $500 difference so im curious if it's worth it to get the hydraulic one.

Thanks HT

you're probably going to end up converting the tranny to cable (removing all of the hydraulics on the tranny) with the hasport kit--this is the easiest solution. best to save the 500 bucks.

After more reading, it seems lots of cable trannys from the non obd b16 get a 2nd-->3rd gear grind. Is it an easy fix, or not as common as it seems? Thanks for the response

The synchros in hydro tranny are more durable than the cable ones. So i'd prefer to take the hydro instead of cable.

My own cable transmission has the very common synchro problem, fast shift from 1st to 2nd and you will hear grind. Sometimes when its getting very bad, you hear the grind in every gear. (Not in my box tho')

And the hydro trannys are in better shape and you can find them easier. One reason cuz they are newer. And if you want LSD, its very hard to find decent condition cable LSD tranny.

I'm doing a B18C swap in the coming winter, and i will definatley swap a S9B LSD hydraulic tranny. Just have to buy the hydro conversion bracket, from Hasport or Innovative.

yea..i mean considering the fact that cable to hydro conversion from hasport costs a lot too, cable might be an easier/cheaper option, even thought the cable tranny's are older and probably need more care, i got the cable lsd tranny, no problems yet, but worst case scenario is i take it apart and rebuild it, cuz i love me a cable tranny dont think i'll ever go hydro....even if i change to a diff. b-series motor..
