Exhaust is f&*%in' loud! What can I do?
I have a full custom exhaust system. Hedders, 2.25" pipe, cat removed, high-flow muffler. It is REALLY loud.
I am not going to replace any parts becuase I can't afford new ****, but is there anything that I can add to my system to make it not as loud?
Some people I know say that I should go to a muffler shop and have them install a resonator. What do you guys think? How much of a difference will this make?
Oh ya, and please dont tell me to put my stock muffler back on...thats not an option. I want to work with the parts that I have installed right now.
I am using a ractive muffler. (Don't flame the brand please...)
THANKS GUYS!

I did get that ractive muffler like I posted earlier and have the same setup as you. No cat, Headers, 2 1/4". I would weld in a resonator. I have 2 and it sound great. Deep tone and no whiny-ness at all. I have a 12" resonator and a 18" resonator. I would get the 18" to start and it should quiet it down perfectly. If its still too loud then get the 12" as well. Hope this helps...
Get a Cat first off...
You want performance... its going to be LOUD!
a resonator will help... the muffler shop will probably give you **** though for not having a cat

We just put a Thrush muffler in the mid pipe of my frineds B18 Cx hatch. It had a top secret muffler with no cat and no resonator before that. It cut the sound in half. The car was literally one of the loudest honda's I'd ever heard before we put the thrush in. It honestly took us about 2 1/2 hours tops with nothing but hand tools and a sawzall. The 2" OD pipe slipped in to the 2" ID muffler, we added a clamp at each end, and we were done. No welding, no leaks, and total cost was around 22.00 (including the clamps).

Nah man, where I live, there are no laws about cat. (I dont think) Besides, the muffler shop removed my cat in the first place for my custom setup.
So I think I will try out a 18" resonator. Anybody know how much this costs? Thanks again!

Just get one of the ractive mufflers with the silencers, I used to have one and with the silencer in it sounded nice, not to loud. But beware when the silencers out
