Default external coil to internal coil?

im posting this for SB tunning... he just switched his extrernal coil dizzy to a internal coil one.. it's started the first time and now it wont start.. does anything have to be done like wireing, ect.?

why would you go from an external to internal that doesnt make sense the external is betteR!!!

here's the situation:

i have a usdm h22 swap in my 92 si....my dizzy went bad and my friend has a jdm h22 distributor that he doesnt need and gave it to me...so i just like to use this distributor on my motor if that were possible...thanx

Isn't the crank angle sensor, etc on the oil pump in the OBDI usdm motors? I know that with my old OBDII usdm motor, the crank angle sensor, etc were on the oil pump and such. The reason i couldnt run the JDM distributer is because it had the crank angle sensor built into it and not on the oil pump. So that would mean, in order to run the JDM distributer you would have to run the JDM oil pump and extend the sensor harnesses to the distributer. But im not sure if this is the same case with the older usdm motor.

obd1 motors dont have crank sensors @ the crank..i just dunno what year the jdm dizzy is...
