Keep in mind I am a poor college student who just spent all my money on some new Sidi Vertebra II Boots!
First of all I got rid of those ugly turn signals and integrated them into the back lights. It seems that Kawasaki had this in mind because both of them have holes ready to put in some lights!

Ok. Well the stock fender is held on with (4) 10mm bolts, so its fairly easy to remove. You have somthing that looks like this.

After removing the stock fender, we now have triming.
Before:

After:

I used a little hacksaw which worked fairly well.
Newly "hacked" fender installed.

Mounting holes for our "custom" license plate holder.

(2) 90degree mounting brackets installed

Now the secret to the cheapness of this "mod". By using the stock license plate holder from your stock fender it fits perfectly without any modification.

How awesome is that !
Now we are ready to put the plate on. I had to use spacers in order to clear the bolts holding on the stock license plate holder.

The final product!

and another

So there you go, i know there are a few 250 owners on this board and hope this helps you guys out. I couldnt justify spending too much money on this bike, because like all of you I'am saving for a bigger bike.

Make sure you check for clearance.
I made one and stuck the stock signals on so they were on the sides of the plate with two more L-brackets. Was fine for a while until I took a 80mph sweeper and the tire hit the plate. Everything got ripped off.
I bought $15 Lockhart signals and put it back on with the plate pushed backwards a bit more and it clears fine.
There is also a red plastic piece you can pop out of the bottom of the brake light. Cut a CD case to size and glue it where the other piece was. Free license plate light

Yeah if i have clearnence issues i will bend the "custom" bracket up farther. As of now i have around 6 inches of clearence.
Thats a great idea with the brake light, will it be a problem with police for not having on in VA?
