Default Polyurethan Ball Joint Boots

I have a set of polyurethane ball joint boots, one goes on the knuckle, one on the upper control arm, and one on the tie rod end. Now the old ball joint boots are held in place with a clip, but the new ones are shaped differently. There is no ridge or any type of provisions for a clip to hold the boot in place.

How does this installation go (no instructions)? Do I just take the old boot off, and slip this on, hoping it gets squeezed down evenly and no grease comes out? That was what I planned to do, just slip the boot on where the old one was and torque down the castle nuts hoping everything stays even without the clips.

well grease will come off/out because some will be stuck to the old boot. You will need to put some in the new boot... and as far as the clips, I am wonderign as well... I havent done this install yet, but I have replaced oem boots before. I can only guess you (we) wouldnt use the clips again.... and the boot will stay in place because it is so much tougher than the oem pieces. You should get an alignment after doing this too because different amounts of grease may settle your car a bit differently. You may notice a change, may not.. the lower profile and wider your tires are will make you feel more of any change there is in suspension settings.
HTH.

I have done this and if someone else knows how to get the retaining spring on the PE boots pls let me know as there is no recieving groove, I just used a thin lock tie on them, they would probably be allright with just the compression from the LCA.
