Sitting in traffic there is a police officer maybe 1 car ahead. I'm usually a bitch around the police anyway so I shift @ or below 3000 rpms. As soon as there is space behind me he jumps behind me and hits the flashers.
Guess what I get stopped for........having a improper exhaust. He said it was so loud he couldn't hear his radio. This is not Cali this GA (Forest park home of the riced out car). People is GA know what I'm talking about.
All I got is a APex N1, granted the quietest exhaust but no whee near intrusive @ the speeds we were at.

Atlanta cops have started to become ********. The whole department is not run very well, lots of stuff they just somehow "forget" to do. They're the reason i don't have a liscence right now. I hate having an import because it just draws attention to yourself, its all profiling.
Also, if you ever get a chance to watch COPS when they have atlanta police on its kinda funny to see what they do. I've seen two illegal searches and some other offense they do on national television.

I think since the first day you drive a type R with an Apexi N1, you know you will get harrassed by BS from the cops. I got a ticket for IMPROPER LINE CHANGE??? for I changing lane during rush hours, I think that's more because I have a Mugen spoiler, side skirts and 17" Kosei P1 and a Type R, so I deservese the ticket....
Hurrell - blame it on the ricers. Those fockers with loud as exhausts are driving the COPS crazy and we become the targets. I'm never getting an exhaust on my commuter.

challenge the ticket in court...thats BS...there are WAY too many imports in ATL with loud exhaust that pass cops everyday...
find the legal decible limits, find out what the N1 does. Have legal documents showing the proof....beat the ticket.

you should use a silencer on that muff and see if that quiets the sound next time. CHeck your local vehicle code (at a DMV website hopefully) and see what the requirements are for mufflers in your town.
-Aoib0t, whose heard the N1 as *BAWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA*

I ran open header for a solid 2 months and NEVER HAD A PROBLEM.
I think you just got profiled.
Fight it in court. I know some tricks to winning too..... IM me.

How did I deserve it. If I had driven any slower he would've given me a ticket for holding traffic up. Ilooked up the criminal code he wrote me up for and I none of it applies to me except for the last part which states excessive noise.....no actual decibel level is stated. So its subject to interpretation.
How did I deserve the ticket. Anyone who know's me, know's I'm not a kid and I don't do stupid **** especially in front of Cops.

I have heard MANY stories from both friends and online buddies, alike, about getting pulled over and/or harassed by law enforcement officers for loud exhausts, blue lights, etc...
...but I have to say...I have never been pulled over before in the following states that I have either lived in or driven through/around extensively: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C. area, Pennsylvania, Atlanta, North Carolina, Florida...(knock on wood...)...and I don't exactly have a quiet car...1995 black/black NSX with some motorsports decals, CF parts, and loud as hell exhaust...basically, you can hear me coming from 2 miles away before you see me...
...so I am wondering if it is something else that is causing my buddies to get pulled over...
...other than the car, because some of my buddies who get pulled over regularly don't drive sportcars...Lexus ES300 or RX300 for example...
...any thoughts?

j/k.
I know H personally, and he isnt one to do anything in front of cops to get attention. Im like Andie, I have a VERY loud Type R as some here can attest to and Ive never been pulled over for anything. (knock on wood) I have no stickers, just loud exhaust and loud color (phoenix yellow)....before my R I had a pretty loud GS-R with stickers and rims and all that jazz and never was pulled over in that car either except for speeding once.
No explenation.

Apexitr is not a fool. I know him and he is like myself. I havent been pulled over for a loud exhaust but Im 100% sure if I was where he was I would have been pulled over also. I have a foucus muffler with stock piping. It does get loud when you get on it but the whole point is profiling. Forest Park+Import+Muffler= A ticket for not driving a mustang. It also doesnt help if your name isnt Billy Bob.

Okay anyone who has a N1 exhaust is loud. That isn't my complaint. My complaint is we were in traffic and @ the speed I was shifting @ there is no way it could have been that loud. When I see a cop I shift very low so i don't draw attention to myself. So this would defeat the whole "Well you have a N1 exhaust what did you expect" arguement.
Keep in mind I've had this muffler on my car since I've had it (about a year). And I had it for 2 years on my R.
With amount of cars in general in this area I have no clue why he stopped me. But this same police officer has stopped other people in the same area for the same infraction. Kinda like he's on a one man vendetta against Honda's with exhausts.
