I'm building a ls/vtec and I want to know which pistons to put in my ls/vtec setup. I wanna use honda pistons. I know that CTR pistons gonna make very high compression but is that to much in the street with 94 octane gaz?

 

if ur gonna run 94 octane u should be fine wut head are u planning on using with ur setup

but if i were u i would just go with type r pistons just my opinion.

 

ITR pistons is a good choice, plus it also helps you generate a little more torque

 

I'm gonna use a ITR head.

 

Go with some ITR pistons.

 

p30 would be the best for pump gas
i'm runing pr3's in my lsvtec
but in all reality your going to spend about $200 on oem pistons and another $100 on rings. your mutch better off just spending another $150 for some forged pistons

dont you people understand that pr3 pistons and p30 pistons produce a higher compression ratio than itr pistons.

anyhow... i list them in order(high comp. to low comp.) for you guys

pct(b16b) > p30(jdm b16a) > pr3(usdm b16a) > p73(itr) > p72(b18c1)

**take note that i didn't show some as usdm or jdm. that's because there are some minor compression differences.

the only differences between the (itr & ctr pistons to the rest) is that they have a coating as compared to the others don't
