Default Need some good honest advice..im so lost.

Ok i have a 1989 acura integra completely stock. I just bought a good B18 LS motor (just the motor) from a friend for very cheap i dont want to swap it in until i have everything i need/want tho. But, since im not very smart and dont know a whole bucnh bout swaps and stuff, alot of people just tell me to buy a new car.....well i just happen to love the 89 models, so that is out of the question already. I want to build up the motor real good, i know i need hasport mounts and some mods and etc. but i want to make it just reallly really nice sleeper. So, i want to go with the B16 head with B16 tranny, (i know i need engine harness and a bunch of other stuff). But i dont want to spend more than $35,000 on this swap...

Right now im just focusing on building the motor, and all i have is the motor right now. So what can i do to make this motor extremely quick but spend under $3,500? (All the things you would recommend i do)
Thanks

$35K...hehe

Anyway, have you decided if you want to stay all motor or go turbo? If you want to go all motor, you should go the route you briefly mentioned and go with an LS/Vtec. The B16 head is very good.

With a turbo setup, you can also do quite well with $3500.

How much power in the end do you want to make? Is there a power goal? A 1/4 mile goal?

turbo, nitrous, n/a are all options, it's where u want to go with your car. 3,500 is a good amount to start with.

3,500 will get you a nice turbo, like previously stated

here are some good links for ls/vtec (there are links in the threads as well that are helpful/informative)

yeah my original plan was to fix up the inside then just drop it...i wanna go all motor..turbo would be fun but i just want motor for now. My goal is to at least hit 13.5 or under if i could with this swap. Is that possible? My car isnt really heavy, but its full interior.

dude, for the money i would just get myself some nice rods and pistons for a higher compression and just do the v-tec setup. it will be pretty quick and will probly run you short $$ also check out ebay for a tranny. prolly pick one up with 2 proofs of purchase froma lucky charms box.

yeah i really dont plan on taking out the interior..i wanna put a nice system in it too and just make it a nice car for a change, but it still would be nice to lighten the thing......If i wanted an exhaust, would i have to go by the year of my car or put on whatever fits the engine (B18A), and bigger cams help..any type of stage reccommended or converting the engine to an OBD 1 or 2? if thats possible...and is LSD on the tranny?
