Default Headers and Exhaust

I'm planning to replace the exhaust system on my 94 EX. I'm starting to hear the engine inside the car. That famaliar Honda car like sound we all know. I thought the Accords were supposed to be quieter. This is my wife's car most of the time. She wants to return the car back to when we first bought it back in 94. One of the services that the Honda Technician suggest is changing the exhaust out. I want to go from the exhaust manifold all the way back. I want to add headers and a new stainless steel exhaust. I see a lot of good ones on Ebay. Does anyone have any suggestions? I just want to do things that will ensure a long life for my Accord. I'm not really interested in making it a race car. Just give it a little more get up and go.

alot of the stuff on ebay isnt quite quality and would be suprised at the lack of quality of alot of the items....i suggest looking into more respected brands for a header/exhaust combo...poor quality mufflers are not good, especially on a daily driver....

do us all a favor go to the rich white guy forums that say how do i change my spark plugs? whats an oil pan? now leave!!!!!!!!!!</TD></TR></TABLE>

You sir, need to go **** yourself Come on here and your first 2 posts are absolute worthless pieces of ****. You're obviously not as honda-wise as you claim to be, otherwise you would realize that an inline 4 cylinder has A HEADER. Not HEADERS as you stated in your post. As far as everyone on here having a disgustingly loud exhaust..... Ask around, most of us go for as quiet an exhaust as we can find/lowest rumble. So go out to your garage, start your car, and rap your lips around your fart can.... ******* t00l

This is meant for that imnonoob *******!!

First all A$$h*#e! You are in no position. I can as whatever the the hell I want to ask. If you are going to respond, respond with something helpful and useful. Nobody needs to be reading that kind of crap from you. It's people like you that probably go speeding through residential sections like a bat outta hell with crappy looking accords they call race car. Dude I am not going nowhere.

If you want to keep it quiet, keep it stock. And definitely DO NOT go with anything on eBay... poor quality and won't be quiet at all.

holy **** that dude was a ******* *** , i push peoples buttons but damn that was totally rude. oh yeah back to the point if you want to go back to stock maybe try to look for a totaled accord with an exhaust that is still good. i just found one on craigslist.com the kid didnt know **** about anything so i got from the cat, back for 50$ it is illegal to buy a cat if not new, but so is a drilled out cat and its hard to pass at deq, so dont ask a junk yard. then just look around for a header , if your not looking for performance then any one would probably do.just remember that a header will make your car a tiny bit louder.

IMO- f you want somthing nice that will give u a "lil" push try rs*r or thermal r&d. &lt;&lt;both those companys have quiet exhaust that are good performance additions as well. the thermal ones look like stock exhaust not loud but nice deep tone. the rs*r does not look stock but has a sleek and low profile and low deep tone as well. as for headers try dc headers, they are carb approved and give alil performance as well. as for intake. keep the stock one,, just remove the bottom portion of it ( the part by the wheel well) and put ak&n filter in it that will allow it to breath a lil easier yet keep your car clean. i hope that helps a little bit. not racer or ricey but just alil performance&lt;&lt;sorry bout my english after school all day last thing i want to worry about is grammer and spelling on my free time.

damn i know i am late, but that guy's post that got deleted and banned was not the smartest there is. i never understand show a$%holes like that even make it in life. it only brings unwanted attention to themselves. ones that aren't offended more than othen are just like the a$%holes themselves. but to back up ebay. there is a reason y the prices are so cheap. remember you get what you pay for when it comes to upgrade and/or replacement parts.

From everything I have read the EX header isn't very restrictive and you won't really gain anything from going with an aftermarket one.

By going with an aftermarket exhaust if will be louder than it is now.

If you want to replace it with a stock exhaust the Honda one has a lifetime warrenty if your the original owner.

For a quiet aftermarket exhaust I would look into a Apexi WS2 although I'm not crazy about the way it looks or it not having SS piping.

Also the Tanabe Hyper Medallion I think thats the one I don't think is supposed to be too loud.

If you don't mind loud I would look at having a Apexi N1 welded up to custom piping on an Invidia cat-back.

I also like the DTM mufflers welded up to custom piping. I'm kind of wishing I had gone with one of those as I like how they look and they don't seem to be all that loud compared to mine and have a nice tone to it. I like it anyway.

I know that DC Headers will give my accord a little bit of performance but do you think its worth buying for my 5th gen accord?
