Default Motor lag

i have a jdm b16 witha y21 tranny in my 96 EK.When my car is not completly warm it wont run right it lags.this happen to anyone else?

is there a check engine light on? could be that the ecu is not engaging vtec until it is warm enough. what rpm range?

the check engine light comes on but only after i have been driving the car for about 30 mins.then the car idles up and down.But it doesnt bog when its doing that.I have a p30 ecu.

when was the last tune-up?cap,rotor,plugs,wires,filters,etc?
is ignition and cam timing in spec?

just throwing it out there. when you changed the head are you sure your timing belt was put on right.. one tooth off and it would be a big deal..

um.. i think the code is either reading 7 or 17. I have stock mounts so i dont know if maybe the timing jumped a tooth due to vibration. Another thing is that i have an obd 1 obd2 conversion harness.would the o2 sensor cause the check engine light to come on and make the car idle like that.

7 is throttle position sensor and 17 is vehicle speed sensor. make sure the connectors for the map sensor and tps sensor are on the correct ones. can cross connectors are the same. you might just need to adjust the idle air screw to fix idle.17 can cause vtec not to engage. check for damaged wires.

REALLY!? the VSS code can prevent vtec from working?!

uhhh do you even know what the computer runs off of to run vtec?? vtec oil pressure switch and speed sensor.. it will not engage vtec if the car is NOT moving
