Default What to do with my non-vtec

I have a 1990 LS b18a1, I just got a XTD racing cluch (still had stock and was almost down to the rivets). Is it worth it to put money into it? With that any suggestions on what to do, more on the performance end.

How many miles do you have on her? If you want performance, throw a turbo kit on it! It really depends on how much money you want to put into it. What's the condition of the car? Fill us in on what you are looking for in your ride. Do you want to drag it? Street it? Track it? What do you want and how much are you willing to pay to get her that way?

It just passe 161,000. The interior is perfect, the engine is a little dirty but not bad. Runs great, money wise I was thinking turbo but I don't know how to put one in and I am not paying someone to do it I don't know/trust. I can find one for cheap but I need to firgure out how to intsall it. Other wise i don't know, going for street drags on this one.

Dirty motor means nothing, cover the distributer with a plastic bag and power wash it with degreaser. Make sure to keep your car running while you're doing this and drive it for a little while after to make sure everything is properly dryed.
I'm modding my gfs 92 integra after I sell my DC2 in the spring. I'm going to overhaul everything including suspension bushings and the works. I think I'll swap motors just because i want more power.
If i were you, i'd throw a turbo on your car. When the block goes, if it goes, rebuild it and sleeve it if you desire. If you dont know anyone who knows anything about turbo installs, then i would take it to a shop. If you dont trust any, then drive around to different shops and do some research so you can see what they do and what they're all about. Most shops will talk to you and show you around the shop. I got all my work done at RS Motors out of burnsville, but I heard Elite in Mpls does a damn good job too.

That's hardcore?

To the original poster, mileage isn't a good determining factor for condition/reliability of a motor. You should do a compression/leakdown test and see. What is your budget? I see you want something fast for the "street drags"? A turbo kit isn't that hard to do, but again, it depends on your mechanical skill. What work can you do now? Suspension? Motor swaps? Brakes? Oil changes?
