What type loctite to use on manifold to turbo studs??
I'm putting together my turbo CRX (finally!) and I was wondering if there is a certain type loctite I can use to keep the studs in the manifold from backing out? I was gonna just use bolts but I've heard studs are better. I've also read loctite will burn off as high as exhaust temps get.

loctite will just melt. you might want to try some hondabond. is what i heard i never tried it myself though.

The high temp loctite is only good to 450 degrees.Safety wire works well.Jet nuts work well when you can find them.They have a small steel tab that locks against the threads.They are not effected by heat.

i used some hi temp antisieze on mine which was recomended from a friend,, never had any problem after that , i know it sounds weird but it works

If you don't double-nut, and you use antiseize, and you track your car, every bolt will come out.. ask me how I know

I've heard good things about those aircract locknuts (jet nuts referenced above?) Where do you buy them?
Also, when you say safety wire, do you mean drilling a hole in the nut/bolt head, and wiring it to something fixed so it can't turn at all? This was recommended to me but damn that seems a bit complicated and a lot of work.
Then again, fixing engine fires because your exhaust leaks is a lot of work (or cash) too.

Ive used the jet nuts firsthand and can certainly vouch for them. I didnt use them on an exhaust however, mine were around a 1/4" thread I believe.
I dont however know where to get any of these, I used them on a payload I built at my internship this summer. I did a search on Mcmaster but it yielded nothing.
Anyone know where to get them?
I googled 'aircraft fasteners' and this popped up

I've had dirt bikes over the years that had them stock.Mostly Hondas and Yamahas.I wish I remember the exact applications.If any one knows a motorcycle parts guy you may find some metric ones.
