Best ecu option for 5th gen accord
I have a 96 auto lx with f22b2 in it. As far as tuning options with ecu goes is a jet chip the only way to go or do certain ecus such as a p28 pull out some performance?
the only reason people run p28 ecus is the because of the ease and wide variety of tuning options for it....but as far as plugging a p28 ecu into your car and expecting it to run better, it wont...the ecu has been carefully matched for the cars setup...i guess you could try a jet chip but i dont know if it will really help you out that much...
Search... there is a thread on here that has a guys testimonial about jet chips. Good stuff. I chipped my car and it makes a noticable difference. Especially with IHE. i'm very happy with the performance upgrade for the price.

One problem with switching to OBDI, though. You won't pass emissions. Not sure how strict it is in Kentrucky.
Your best bet would be to use a P28, or P0A (from a 5th Gen EX if I'm not mistaken) ECU, and just run something along the lines of Hondata, Uberdata, Crome, Neptune, etc. There are a ton of tuning options out there.
And here is a testimonial of a JET ECU upgrade on a 6th Gen Accord. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1317688
Chritter, any more info on your setup?

If you run Uberdata, keep in mind you'll need to pay someone to tune it, or buy a wideband and tune it yourself. Either way its not cheap, but it's less than AEM. If all you have is IHE your best bang for the buck would be to go with the JET chip.

P0A wont work with uberdata, crome, hondata etc...
p28 with a f22 uberdata or crome bin is the most cost effective but in your case you would have to convert to OBD1...
edit: just read that you have an auto... convert to or get a manual before you want to dabble with ecus
