Default Car runs too rich

whats up everybody, i have a D16a6 motor in my dx hatch and it runs hella rich. Black smoke when i drive hard and it smells like gas sooooo bad in and out of my car. can anyone help me? a few have said i should change my ecu (currently pr4). What do you guys think?

yeah probably a good idea since a pr4 is for a 1.8L.

wired up all right no problem in that. Just way too much gas. I tried a pm6 but it makes my car really slow. what would you guys recomend for an ecu

have u tried swapping it./ u never know.

this happened to a guy i know. cause it really sounds like its at full throttle

try using a pg7 ecu, out of the 89 integra. i had it in my car and loved it.

I have same problem, but different engine.

I think the injector is sticking open for a nano-second too long.

Some seafoam seemed to solve the problem, thoguh.

hey man, check your vaccuum lines. i had the same problem and it stopped after i switched two lines back. try it out, check your map sensor vaccuum and charcoal canister.

Check your injectors, make sure you have the correct injector size. Like someone stated above, try using a PG7 ecu instead of the PR4. The PR4 might be sending out too much fuel for your 1.6L. Remember PR4 is meant for a 1.8L dohc motor.
