Default Motor Mounts

Is it hard to change out the motor mounts for a 92 hatchback. My engine jumps when i go from park to neutral, and neutral to reverse, etc.

Then, no, it shouldn't be too hard.

just do them one at a time and you'll have no problem. Just place a jack or something under your engine to raise it just slightly so the weight is taken off the mounts.

Polyurethene inserts that slip over the rubber sections on stock mounts.

i wouldnt recomended too stiff of a motor mount because it does cause excess vibration in the car, i had prothanes and my car would literally buzz like a bee at exactly 3500rpm. if its your daily driver just get some oem mounts and change them one at a time.

you just need basic tools and a jack with some boards to jack up the motor

Before you change your motor mounts, I'd do a fluid flush of your transmission. Auto trannys shift hard/harsh and jerk the car when the fluid is old/bad. I had to do this a few times on my old car. Fixed the problem right up.

Do your motor mounts have visible wear and tear on them?

I agree too. Honda is not known for the best auto transmissions. It takes at least 3 changes since alot of fluid is held up in the torque converter. By changing it several times, you're simply diluting the old fluid with new fluid. But Honda ATF only.

It's an easy process. Just make sure you support the side of the engine/tranny when you're removing the corressponding mount.

I had a local shop i know pretty well take a look at my transmission. and even they suggested to change out my motor mounts. the trans. fluid was fine
