on a stock sohc vtec, will i hear the vtec kick in, on my old ej8 I use to hear it but I had a cai... does that matter. reason why i ask cause i dont hear it, but most people say I need a intake to hear it.. true or false ?

 

Most of the time the Vtec engagement on a SOHC is Audible and not very noticeable. so dont expect to much.

Im sure if u upgrade your cam and valvetrain you will notice vtec but as of right now u prolly wont.

 

Intakes help hear the air being sucked by the motor. My EJ8 screams in vtec (thanks to a swap and upgrades).
