civic=world class sports car?
well i didnt know if any of you guys noticed the new corvette z06. well it makes 500 horsepower, 0-60 in 3.5 sec, and a 1/4 mile time of 11.4 at 125. it costs 70 grand. I was just wondering if anyone here could make a civic out perform this new vette in every way. this is including boost, although reconizing the fact the vette is naturally aspirated. Motor Trend calls it a world class sports car. If anyone could make a civic outperform it for less than 70 Gs then you would have a world class sports car. Isnt that a concept? if you feel like posting the actual setup you would use that would be cool.
erm... it is very possible.. duh. But since the new z06 weighs about the same as my civic coupe, I doubt a tuned z06 can be beat by a tuned civic. It's twice the engine. But yes, you can build a civic that will beat a z06 with less than 70k.
the civic is a small japanese economy car but can be made to outhandle and outaccelerate the ZO6 and other crazy V8's for less cash.
Watch out for modded ZO6's though, might be a challenge

The new corvette looks like a mish-mash of a bunch of other cars... Just like that poor gm saab-ubaru station wagon...it doesnt even know what it is supposed to be!
The only thing I like about it is the classic rear window design. And me saying anything positive about any corvette should be taken as a lot.
Everyone and their brother owns a corvette here. Stupid Motor City... (Yeah, same could be said about civics in california, I know)
My friend's dad has a classic stingray vette, that is, I kid you not, **** brown... God its awful

lol it still looks vettish. Was raised on GMs and now a Honda guy but still have a love for Corvette's, although I'd rather have an NSX than one. I hate mustangs because down here in hicktown alabama everyone has one and everyone thinks they're the coolest in the world.
yea and the sad part is the mustang gt before 05 made what 260 hp....that is junk. im sorry ford does not know how to do it they only supercharge their **** like the ford gt. at least chevorlet is doing it the right way. i guess alot of this **** would come down to driver in the handling department, but isnt it crazy how you can mod a 5000 dollar car to outperform world class cars. like lamborghinis and ferraris and such. i know your civic will never be a ferrari but it is still crazy if you actually pulled up to one on the highway and turned your boost up and left the guy in a hualt you would see a 200,000 dollar frown on the old guys face.
Still, while you're flying around in your econo-box Honda, the Ferrari driver will be picking up a bunch of gold diggin hotties.
You have to remember that along with a high performance car you're buying a name too. Although it's always been a pleasant thought to pull up to a v8 and let my 4-banger dust it... the Honda will never be as cool to have as an exotic or Vette, etc.
