Default Block making noise like a ticking sound.. is it normal?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
it's still on the engine stand. i just got done putting in the rods and pistion. The head hasn't been install yet. its just that evertime one of the pistion hits top dead center you can hear a ticking sounds. if you put your ear right next to the piston as it hit top dead center you can here a tick coming right out of it. i mean it doesn't sound bad. and it does it on all 4 piston not just one. i never done a rebuilt b4 so i don't know if that is normal. I check everything. the crank rods are fine. nothing is hitting anything.. even the rods and pistons. i checked everything. and everything seem to be within spec. i bolt all the nut down to spec. so i don't know. maybe my rings are alittle to hard on my block. the crank and block was done at the shop. so there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. Please let me know... right now i'm just sitting thinking if i should put the head on and just go for it.

it does it all the time on every piston so i guess it's not really soemthing hitting something. cause if that was the k the faster you turn the crank the louder the noise would be. but it does. slow or fast its still the same.. i think something isn't tight... i'm not sure..

im thinking since the rings are so tight that when the piston hits TDC and starts to go down the rings are moving and causing a tick sound.

if all else fails wait till you get the head and do a compression test on all 4 pistons if that checks out then it will be fine.

hmm they look normal, like i siad run the compression test once its all together. also it could be clicking due to no lubrication.
