LS S1 cable tranny how to tell by counting gears.
ok open the tranny counted the fine drive it turns out its a 4.4 FD
66 divided by 15 gives me a 4.4 fd.
Is there a possibility that this tranny still might me an LS

Count the number of teeth on both the input and output shaft gears for fifth gear. Fifth gear will have the smallest gear on the imput shaft and the largest gear on the output shaft. Divide the number of teeth on the input shaft by the number of teeth on the output shaft. If it is somewhere around .85, then it is a B16A transmission. If it is somewhere around .75:1, then it is an LS transmission (unless someone put an LS fifth gear in a B16A transmission).
