spiked to 18 psi.................................
I changed manifolds and turbos to go to the track last friday evening... when putting the hood down I didn't pay attention and the hood pinched the wastegate vac-line.
I went for a pull, and noticed a good deal in power, 2nd gear....had no traction whatsover and 3rd gear was spinning its way up to redline, and I knew right there that I shouldn't have that much power I look over and the needle is showing more and more pressure.
I'm running uberdata. I have a stock MAP sensor, and 450 cc injectors.
No CEL came on...and it pulled like it had power and never detonated, missed, or sputtered that entire time. What happens when the boost pressure surpasses the limitations of the MAP sensor? And how the hell were my injectors not peaking to death? I run a very conservitive, rich map. 9 degree's retard at 10 psi of boost, with a fuel effeciency of 120%.
Just a little confused as how the motor still acted normal, and everything functioned when technically there was no way for it to keep up with that much air, or process that much boost through the ECU.
My setup is in the sig.

after it passes the map sensor limits, it stays like it is running 11.5 pounds and just leans out as more boost comes in. 9 degree's total timing is crazy retarded!! I'd go with about 17-18 (witch is conservative).. Sounds like you got lucky and didint damage anything, i'd watch it from now on tho.
