Building a Poor Mans R got a few questions
Hi,
I plan on picking up a gsr shortblock in a couple of weeks and start building the block to mate it with my b16a head. Then once I will eventually part together a turbo setup for it. My goal is to be close to about 9:1 c/r.
From what I have read if you use a ls crank in the gsr block you can make a little bit more torque. But I have read if you go that route then you will probably end up with a pretty high compression ratio. So what I am wondering is if there is a way (with out getting custom pistons/or rods made) that I would be able to run the ls crank. Or is it not even worth the hassle?
Also with using the b16a head is that going to bump up the c/r a little bit? I just was wondering what would be a good setup to get about a 9:1 c/r with the gsr/b16 head combo.
Any help, or links with setups like this would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keith
