Default Need Help A.S.A.P. How to make my new engine run leaner...

ok i just finished putting together my ls vtec with my pistons, rods, bearings etc....now i put the engine in and its running rich as hell....i have 240cc injectors...fuel rail and fuel pressure gauge and modifier....the fuel pressure is as low as it can go 30psi....the fuel pump is m walboro 255...the turbo fuel pump...the ecu is stock gsr map with skunk 2 chip..and i have an afc...but the car is still running really rich and bogging and jerking bottom end...and i cant have it run rich because im trying to break in my rings....is there any way to get my fuel pump to run like a stock one...because i dont wanna put the stock one back in because once its broken in im going turbo again...in about a month...so someone help

if you set it at the factory psi yuo should be fine but if that doesnt help out you can play with the afc . but i think you are all ready to lean i would try to richen it up alittle to see what happens. because 30 psi is real low even for a stock car to run good at

how do you know your running rich?????

do you have a wideband installed ? what afr are you running??

Severe lean condtions could cause bucking, jerking, and bogging. its called a lean misfire.... I would get a wideband in there and see whats reallly going on before leaning it out anymore...

might be way tooo lean as is..

i dont think its way to lean but i will up the fuel pressure to about 40psi to be safe....you have to remember that i have a turbo fuel pump installed for a dinky *** 1.8 litter....i think thats whats making it rich

Try this - sell the chip. All the chips do are dump extra fuel and advance timing, two things you won't want.

Before that you should crank it to 40 like said, if it gets worse after 35psi and moreso at 40psi, then it's probably too rich. From what I know, the 255 HP pump tends to really squirt the fuel.
