Difference in SS brake lines?
stainless steel covered brakes lines don't expand so all your brake input goes directly to the brakes, with less mushy feel.
HP brake fluid won't boil as easily, preventing soft pedal.
for both mods.

thanks, and your not too far away from here. I'm in Western North Carolina. We're about to start auto-x season.

theres the website for the local auto-x group. Come see us.

the squishy-ness just goes to the next weakest link. watch your brake master cylinder while you have a friend push the brake pedal and you will see what i mean. not very good bang for the buck really, but who am i to talk i have a set... if youre really itching to try something, i like the ol zip tie method better. fluid is a better investment as well as pads to match.. lap times will not improve with SS lines if the above two are in good order. sorry.
Quite a bit of difference. You'll notice better modulation and feel with ss lines. A better brake fluid won't show it's value until you're on the track boiling regular fluid.

I little to no difference in feel when installed on my RX-7.
Brake fluid and pads do make a huge difference.
Also, SS lines are not so good on street. Dirt gets into the braid and can slowly erode the inner teflon tubing.

Good point. Make sure to get the ss lines that have rubber covering the steel braid. Most come with this now so dirt won't eat away at the rubber in the interior.

Well that was 7 years and 90,000 miles ago. I will have to keep an eye on these lines though.
How much of a difference is noticable when using ss brake lines and dif brake fluid on stock rotors and calipers?
huh?
They both turned blue.
That's the only change I noticed.

I think Prelussion was asking what turned blue?
I think MaxQ means the stainless lines and rotors turned blue?
If I may...

Oh, uhhhhh, well Brembo blanks sometimes get a blue haze.
And I figured SS lines could turn blue like a SS header does... but ummm no that's silly.

i'll be autocrossing so i suppose the brake fluid won't make much of an improvement for me.
don't brake that often when autocrossing. The brakes would be the last thing I would upgrade, my opinion.
Also what good does it do to be able to gain .5 secs in the turns and short straights, if you have to break .8secs earlier?
Don't brake that often when auto-xing? I guess it's safe for us to assume that you don't auto-x.. You brake a lot in auto-x. Brakes can make a big difference in your times. I dropped my times at least 1/3sec. or more when I went to AXXIS MM pads/Brembo blanks & SS lines (did it all the same day but I 'm sure pads helped the most) last year. I wish I had done them in '00 when I auto-xed on stock brakes the whole season.. You want to have better brakes so you can brake later instead of earlier on. Braking is very important in auto-x. Aftermarket pads would be the 1st thing I 'd do after tires, knowing what I know now.
