any real difference between R and gsr seats
tried over in the intergra forum, didnt work. umm...is the only real difference that R seats are black with the red stiching? The look identical to me. Looking to trade/sell my recaro speeds if anyones interested.

The fabric is different, too. The R seats are alcantara bolsters with a nylon mesh center.

Well if you can't tell the difference go for the GS-R. Most GS-R's are leather whereas the ITR is alcantra (similar to suede for grip) with a mesh insert along with broader side bolsters. I certainly wouldn't trade some good sparco's for GS-R's.

Actually, most GS-Rs have cloth seats. Leather wasn't even available for the first few years of the GS-R (even the first gen GS-R / second gen Integra in '92-93, or the second/third beginning in '94) and those years had the biggest GS-R sales. Leather became only an option a few years later (they called it the GS-RL in some places)...

thats some **** people been saying online for years and i dont think its true, it feels softer because of fabric used.. foam inside has to be identical. adjustable gsr seats are different from other integras, other than that itr is same as all others minus fancy fabric

I disagree that the fabric seat covering alone would change the difference in feel. The *** part definitely felt softer in comparison.

Hell yeah.... in fact i just drove my ITR today then got into my buddies GSR. We both commented on the difference in the feel of the seats. Something is different, that's for sure!
Edit: he has 94-95 cloth

1102 felt stiff to me, (< 15 k)
friends R with 80k felt really soft,
new R feels kind of in between. (46k)
maybee its the same foam / part # and just depends on how heavy u are and how worn the seats are.

arn't all the part numbers the same except for the fabric.
at the acura dealer the parts guys and service tech (who were into the import scene) always told me the seats were exactly the same minus the fabric

There are a number of ITR-specific things that have the same part number as other generic Integra stuff, but somehow wound up being different when the car was purchased new. This could be another one of those things, and now Honda/Acura decided to simplify it and just make one damn seat cushion for everyone.
The seat bottom was made softer to compensate for the stiffer suspension. I believe this was mentioned somewhere in the sales literature for the 00-01's.

Your right, I just don't have hard proof.
