I have a 92 integra and I want to put on adjustable ball joints but I am can't find anywhere how to remove the stock ball joints. Are they pressed in? Do you need to have them pressed out? Any help would be appreciated.

 

There is a ring clip that locks it in place....once that is off you can use a mallet to knock it out from the bottom up. Its not that difficult at all.

Is it easier to take the upper arm off to do this or can it be done while still on the car?

 

I had a really hard time getting the ball joint to pop out of the uca and lca. I tried hammering the medal piece that the ball joint is connected to, but it wouldn't pop out. After so many hours of messing with it, I got fed up with working on that so I went to a local auto parts store and bought a pit man arm puller. After buying that, all the ball joints came off easily. You might want to consider buying that if all else doesn't work out.

This is a Pitman arm puller.

 

remove the snap ring thats under the boot on the upper arm and hit with a hammer a few times and it should pop right out. ive done this very same install.

 

use that tool ^^^^ i rented one from Autozone to remove my front ones and it worked GREAT!
