Default Autocross tire width question

So as autocross season approaches it's time to get some new tires. I had originally planned on getting some Azenis but seeing as how they seem to be on back order everywhere I might as well just bite the bullet and get the Kumhos. So here's my question, what size should I get? These will be going on stock Si rims so my first inclination was to get 185 or 195s. The 185/60/14s are $86 at TireRack, the 195/55/14s are $94 and, here comes the real root of my question, the 205/55/14s are $107. I know I've heard of people running 205s on stock rims but it's been a while and I wanted some fresh opinions. I'd like to get the widest possible tire that'll fit on the stock rims. The price isn't that big of an issue since Tax Refund time is here, so what do you guys think.
I'm running in D-mod so there isn't any issue with tire size, and my tax refund isn't gonna be so much that I can afford 13x8s, since I've already got the stock ones lying around I might as well use those.
I will also be doing a few track days this summer so this should also be taken into account, I'd like to use the Kumhos later in the summer for these events.
Oh, also the Azenis only come in a 185/60/14 anyway, or at least that's all I've seen around. So that's another reason to get the Kumhos. Any advice or comments are welcome, thanks
Evan

Oh, sorry, this is for an 89 CRX Si, neuspeed sports, KYB-AGXs, ZC blah blah blah

if u have a spare set of wheels and ur runnin in D-mod, u may as well get kumho victoracers or ecta v700's. the 205's will fit on stocks. i'm runnin 205 50 13's om my 13x5.5 steelies. i know the victoracers will last a while, so shouldn't have a problem with coarding them before the end of the summer unless u run alot of events.
hope that helps

What he said.

205s will fit the stock wheels.
But, if you can get some used rims, get some R compounds.

yeah, i'm gettin the Victoracers. What's the deal with the new Ecsta V700s? are they R-compounds too? They kinda look like Yoko A520s.

Yes, the Ecsta V700 is a new R compound. Jury is still out as to performance, as they were released VERY late last season, so not many people got to use them.

Both tires sould be produced alongside each other for a while.

yea, the escta 712 is supposed to be a softer, sticker compound than the victoracer with stiffer sidewalls. they come in weird sizes tho

If you are in D Mod and want to be competitive then you better be on 13x8 or 13x9 wheels and run 225s Hoosiers

yeah that would be ideal, but unfortunately I'm on a college student budget at the moment and can't afford that. The real goal is to go out and have fun, the two other guys in D-mod around here are bad ***. Completely gutted, roll caged cars with suspension so stiff you feel like you could tear the door off trying to shake the car. I have no illusions about being competative, or winning d-mod for that matter. It'll just be fun.

The Ecsta V700 is the R compound not the Ecsta 712.
