I barely made it home today. I lost pressure on my clutch. When I try to re-bleed the clutch, there is good pressure, but when I start the car, the pressure is lost and I can't put the car into gear.

Easiest things to check is the master and slave cylinders... but it sounds like the clutch itself might be toast.

thanks for the quick reply. I just replace the clutch and fly wheel it has less than 1000 miles on it. It's competition clutch.

 

check the master cylinder the same thing happened to my 95 coupe

Have another person check to make sure the fork on the slave cylinder is actuating. See if there is any fluid underneath the pedal area there where the master cylinder is. Those are easy to check for.

I just checked the master cylinder underneath the pedal, no fluid underneath. The fork on the slave cylinder is actuating but is vibrating very hard.

 

 

The fork on the slave cylinder is vibrating very hard. Possibly a bent pressure plate?

I checked everything again, and this time, when I start the car, the clutch pedal seems to get stuck and is not disengaging. Very frustrating right now

 

take off the slave cylinder and see if you can move the clutch fork by hand

 

sounds like the master cylinder..that resevoire that holds the fluid..the pressure might have just gone out..was this all of a sudden..or did it gradually start sticking?..do you find yourself refilling clutch fluid?..replacing mine on my late model prelude wasnt that much if i remember correctly..

unbolt the slave cylinder like hatchi said, it sounds like he's right, especially with the vibrating! and its only 3 bolts

I got frustrated and went to bed last night. A new day! The pressure is lost all of a sudden. It was fine that morning. Drove 30 miles from work and I couldn't downshift nor put into gear after I restarted the car. I checked the master cylinder - no leak. The fluid is fine, it doesn't take alot to fill up. It can't be the clutch, it's less than 1000 miles. I did hear about some CC clutch going bad though. Any other idea.

I know you want to rule out the clutch... but I didn't think it was mine either and it ended up being it. What kind of clutch is it? Full surface? 6-puck? Sprung or unsprung?

Hello everyone, the car is back on the road. The vibration is no longer there. It was the clutch all along. There were black spots on the clutch and flywheel. They look like burn marks on the surface. Something I'd never seen happen with the clutch being driven less than 500 miles. Has anyone experienced similar problem? I would like to know the culprit.
