Default super charged gsr

i have a jackson racing super charger on my gsr running at 10 psi. a month ago my engine started to smoke and i got an advice that i should rebuild and the smoking problem was from the piston rings. i got a good deal on arias forged 12:5 compression, if i rebuild the buttom end would i be able to run that compression ratio and the 10 psi with boost with no problem?

U should learn about cars if ur gonna mod one..Honestly thats one of the dumbest questions i read on H-T.thats why im posting back to u..

Lets see..Ur stock compression is 10:1..U basically fucked up ur engine by blowing ur rings at 10psi..And ur asking if u UP your compresssion if it will run fine at the same boost??LMAO..12:5 is way to high for the SC...

On forced induction u want lower compression pistons for it to run safer..

Do research b4 modding a car, dont just slap on parts that u have no clue about

You might want to do some searching on this subject.

You can run boost on a high compression motor but it's all in the tuning and quality of the fuel you run to avoid detonation.

Good luck!

While you have it torn apart, carefully consider your engine management.

Wtf is 12:5 mean. If it was a compression ratio, wouldnt it be 12:1? Help me if im wrong. Or is it supposed to be 12.5:1?

You can't even run a NA setup on pump gas with that CR.

the highest you are going to want to run is 10:1
better choice if you wanna boost higher is 9:1
do your reearch in the forced induction forum, lots of good info to be searched. I have done quite a bit of reading over in that section.

10.6:1 stock ITR compression runs 10psi reliably when properly tuned.

With good tuning you can.

My personal opinion for what it's worth. I have a supercharged integra running 10psi. Get some good forged pistons about 10:1 and run water/methanol injection. If the tune is good you'll run 12's all day long reliably and it will drive like a stock teg.

I wouldnt run any lower than ~10:1 with the JRSC. Youre going to need all the power per PSI you can get, as you will be limited by your supercharger, not by your motor.

No need for sleeves.

Without modification to the blower, youre going to start seeing ridiculously high IATs probably around ~12 PSI. Also at that point youre spinning the blower @ a high speed that could decrease its life significantly.

84mm is a nice common size with lots of options. Bigger is better.
