ok here is the problem. I bought a 92 hatch back shell about 2 weeks ago and i finally got around to putting my motor in it (d16z6). everything went in smooth but when I hooked up the battery all the gauges came on and the fuel pump turned on. But i didn't have a key in the ignition. I thought maybe the ignition wiring was messed up so I changed that but its still the same way. The reason i bought the car was because it looked like none of the wiring had ever been touched. BUt besides the ignition im not sure what to check. Has any one else ran into this problem.

 

So, everything is working.. But, there is no key in the ignition?

 

yeah everything work, but when i hook up the battery the fuel pump cuts on. So when i start the car it runs fine but i can take the key out and it still continues to run. So i had to unplug the distributor to cut it off.
