wierd problem that happen this morning :(

Default wierd problem that happen this morning :(

i gave the car to my sister , shes been driving it for 5+ months no prob. this morning she went to start it , it stared and alot of knocking and differnt type of noises was heard, she shuts it off really quick, i said dont touch it ill look at it when i get home.

when i got here there was coolant on the floor , under the motor, i cheaked the oil , it was a qt low , then i stared it ,it sounded ugly ,sound like its rods or chould it have jumped timing casue if the water pump went bad ?

im lost ,

ima do a compression test , to see if im getting the correct comepression , whats do u guys think. motor gone ? or wut

this stuff doesnt jus happen over nite

my guess, rod bearings are shot and it happened due to low oil.

English is usually the language of choice here, but I think I understood what you were saying... I would remove the spark plugs and carefully turn the engine over by hand and see if there is any binding. It doesn't sound good from your description though. You'll probably have to disassemble the engine and repair/replace some parts. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

4qts of oil is not going to make you spin ur rod bearings. your car can run on 1.5 qts of oil with no problem. if your sitting still.

yea i'd hafta guess that this isnt the first sign of engine failure, its just the first sign that your sister has noticed. maybe the cd player loaded a little slower this time and she noticed the knocking before it started playin.

I agree. 1qt low is not going to make a difference, and it's probably been going downhill for some time. I WOULD NOT roll the engine over with the key. Turn it over by hand first.

1 quart low on oil overtime will mess your motor up.....not from a day to another tho.
