Default Head Gasket Question

So Im in the middle of doing my LS/VTEC swap and I pull out the headgasket that came with the kit and slap it on there and notice that it doesnt fit right... Do I not have it the right direction? The main thing that concerns me are the areas that are partially covered.

I've always managed to end up with partially covered areas when changing head gaskets.

That looks right to me, you have the "UP" facing up, and the oil control jet it in the right part of the gasket. that is correct.

Ok I am going to install it like that and we'll see what happens. If anyone else has any feedback that would be great. Also those pics were taken without the dowel pins in.

shorto man try to use another headgasket that one might have been a production screw up whats gonna happen is that if theres any hg material in the combustion chamber its going to cause your engines best friend DETONATION cause that material becomes a hot spot and thats something you really dont want , cause that headgasket looks really funky to me like it wasnt machined right

actually i saw that as well and i think 2quik is talking about the cylinder closest to the left would be # 4 and it looks like theres a gap in between # 3 And # 4 so make sure its not from the angle of the pic, but that is a very wide gape there. be sure to check and let us know.

it doesnt fit like it would be stock, because GE uses modified vtec hg's for their ls/v's conversions

It looks fine to me. For those who mentioned the alignment of the gasket being off, remember that he does not have the dowels installed yet, so it is not perfectly positioned at this point.
