if you haven't adjusted your valve lashes in the last 50K or so, I strongly suggest you do.

I did mine today setting them to .007 on intake and .009 on exhaust... let me tell you it fixed a bunch of problems..

-- no more idle problems
-- smooth running motor
-- no more notchy tranny.. shifts smooth.. i'm guessing due to smooth motor so less vibration
-- gears shift smoothly now and the car doesn't buck on shifts
-- afew more things i observed and can't remember at this late hour

it's easy as hell, you don't have to remove the tire, just turn it all the way to the left and go at it

I would do it if I had a torque wrench.

That's a nice write up too.

i didn't use a torque wrench... i just tighten by feel... so basically hand-tighten, and a bit more for that 14ft/lb torque

not my write up but since it had pics i thought i would add it.. i followed the service manual for my adjustment which is straight forward

of course, torquing stuff would be the best option but you can do it without a torque wrench... just be careful
