i noticed everyone does 84mm and 85mm for turbo. has anyone done a 86mm for turbo. my 85mm ls block took a dump all motor, crappy machine shop work. now debating on whether to boost on 86mm. any disadvantage on boosting on such a large bore? thanks for the imput

 

86 has been done ... doesnt leave much room for errors though thats about max for bore size I have seen for boost. Sleeves dont have much meat left though but for going boost

 

have fun replacing head gaskets

 

I wouldnt go with that large for boosting. Im staying at 84mm. Just to be safe.

Head gaskets are a bitch at 86mm

 

what are some issues with the headgasket at 86mm?

 

there not to much gasket left inbetween the sleeving and as soon as you raise the boost it will go
