What size do you think will fit best?(Wheels)
Hey guys, I am coming to the final steps of purchasing my wheels and had a couple of quick sizing questions. Can I run a 17x8 inch weel with a +35 Offset or do I have to go with the narrower 17x7 inch wheel with a +42 Offset. I will be running this setup on Yokahama Avid H4S tires in a 215/45/17 size. Currently I am running at stock height but I will be dropped 1-2 inches front and rear. Will I have rubbing issues with the 17x8 at stock height; what about at a lowered stance?
Thanks for the help guys! I just hate a set of wheels that dont look like they fit properly!

Since you've neglected to say what year your Accord is, I'll take a guess.
You'll probably be limited to a size of 7" width max, regardless of the rim diameter. This is due to the verticle link (number 23 in the illustration) which makes up the rear hub assembly. On the 5th Gens' this gives a 1" space between the link and the 15x6 se rim. Any closer, and you'll be running into sidewall / link interference on turns.

Adding additional rim width to the outside will bring the tire outside the wheel well.

6th gens need around a 50 offset for 8" wide rims. 45 is the lowest you should go but there will be some rubbing. if you go thinner like a 7, 42 is kinda low but 45 and higher would be better. but 215 is kinda narrow for 8s so tire maybe stretched out.
If you go 17x8 put a 225/35/17 or a 225/40/17, but if you go with a 17x7.5, I would go with a 215/40/17. Thats just so you won't strech the tire, that looks real nasty. With the 17x8 you might have to roll the fender lip when you drop it, so it won't rub.

You will definatley feel a difference because of the less unsprung weight. When I had my 17" Motegis it was so hard to get my car going. They weighted about 25 lbs each. Now I have my lightweight 13lbs rota's. Big Difference. You can nver go wrong with a lighter wheel....
Like previously said, they can be made to fit perfectly with some minor modifications.
I'm rolling on 17x7 wheels with 225/45 tires.
It's so nice having 17s that weight 16 lbs. each.
