Default oil filter removal

yeah right. For some reason my usual methods are not getting this biatch off.
I went to get a filter wrench and one size was too small while the next size up was too big. Perfect, story of my life. How bad would it be to use the old filter until I can figure out how to get it off (only need the car for a few days)? And how much oil do you guys think is left in that fugin thing, so I don't overfill.
Maybe I should just get out the sledge hammer.

The Acura manual says changing oil and filter every 3700 miles under severe conditions. Under normal conditions about twice that. If you go for a couple hundred miles or even a thousand, without changing, those few more metal shavings that collect aren't going to do much of a damn thing. If you worry, keep the revs down, that should help a little bit.

Good point about the mileage. I guess I'll have to order the proper wrench. Oh well, fresh oil is better than nothing.
thanks for your help, bud.

when i cant get a filter off or i dont have the right socket i just stab the filter with a screwdriver all the way thru and just twist it off. Not much oil comes out of the filter as long as you dont remove the screwdriver. Worked every time so far.

yeah, i've had to use the screwdriver method plenty of times. just make sure you are hammering the screwdriver into the filter and not anythign else. good luck.

Yeah, I've seen people use the screwdriver method. I would go buy that wrench from honda, but I'm going to be using the smaller HAMP filters afterwards. So it won't be worth buying for only one use. I guess I'll have to go knife the current filter.

I have this great tool.
It expands to fit around the filter and you attach a 3/8 ratchet to it.
As you turn to loosen it tightens its grip on the filter.
This is a great tool and not to be confused with a band type.
Those socket types like the pics above SUCK.

yall are just weak, yall need to take off your powersteering to work out your forearms, after a month of driving with no ps, you're forearms will be strong enough to take the filter off with your bare hands.

try what i do. I use a couple rubber bands on the oilfilter.
I had hard times using oil filter wrecntch, but the rubber bands and your hand should do the trick. Alwys works for me

LOL. Yeah use those forearms for what they are really intended for like taking off oil filters, not the ol' five knuckleshuffle on the ol' **** pump.
