Okay, when I put a radar detector or my ipod charger into the cigarette lighter, the radio cuts off, what is going on?
Thanks guys, (not very good with audio!)

Sounds to me like something is grounding out. Your radio and cig. lighter both share a common accessory, or should atleast. I guess you could check to make sure that there is no wire exposed and its not touching any metal.

Thanks guys, will try and figure it out, just FYI, if I unplug the charger out of the cigarette lighter, after a while the radio will turn back on.
As far as the fuse, either its good or bad, so if the stereo and lighter continue to work I would have to assume that the fuse is still good, and as you said shorting out somewhere.

I've run into this soo many times with AGU fuses. They look fine, but if you measure the "output" side of the fuse holder you get a whopping 3 volts. Like FCM said this may be the case. Your radio may pull the most of it's current off of the constant wire, and the accessory is only used to switch a transistor or relay on. When you plug an item into the cig lighter, it's going to put more of a demand on the accessory circuit.. and with a bad fuse this could cause the voltage to drop.
