standard on '00 and '01 Rs, not sure about '97 and '98. you need it to disable the factory alarm.

I don't think any usdm ITR's came with keyless entry or an alarm system. 00 & 01 models came with a key based anti-theft device.

Incorrect.

The Integra was the only Acura to not have a keyless entry standard in 2001. It was availble as an accessory from the dealer i.e. dealer installed. I installed my own.

So, the Acura keyless entry system was a dealer option.

Good Point, I do hate when that happens. Every now and then I get a good scratch when I am not paying attention.

How hard is it to stick a key in a hole? Makes me wonder what else y'all have trouble with...

For a street driven car is a sweet feature to have. Especially if you're running out to your car in the rain or something.

Not hard at all just sometimes Its hard to see in the dark. I don't want to get any scratches around the key hole. Its kind of inconveniant to have to bend down just to see where your putting the key in the dark

This is why I love the ITR forum. Someone gives the correct answer, and everyone else keeps babbling...

It shouldn't matter if it has keyless entry or not you will NEED to put a high end alarm system on your R when you get is, espically with your proximity to Seattle.
