Default Keyless entry remote reprogramming..

Ok.. So I've got #55 and have all the keys for it, but no keyless entry remotes..

Then it hits me, I still have all my keys from #106 before it was stolen(for those playing at home, they're both 98's).. How do I reprogram this sucker to work on #55? I searched, came up empty on how for integras.. I figure I could take it to Acura, but it can't be THAT hard, so I'd rather not waste the trip and/or potentially money..

Anybody able to tell me?

Factory Keyless entry?

Mang I wish I had that, na just wishes I had a lot of cool things that don't really matter.

As for the key fob, I think the dealer can re-program it but 100% sure.

Does # 55 have an alarm (factory or otherwise)?
Just need to find the right fob for the alarm in use then.

BTW --- Gina's car has a NICE alarm, though I'll have to get her to put the stock head unit back before she drops it off at my place ...

Mine came stock with keyless entry. R you all sure that they didnt come stock with keyless entry. I mean i guess some of you are saying that you dont have keyless entry right now as it stands but how many of you are also the original owner. Perhaps the original owners could have kept them.

I was under the impression they all had it from the factory.. hell, if my 99 Civic EX and my 00 Si had it, I would be un-impressed if the R's didn't have it..

this isn't an aftermarket alarm.. I just want my little Acura lock/unlock/panic remote to work on the new R..

I'm postitive that my old 01 did not come with it. I know there was a dealer add on that some dealers were installing which added it, but definitely not standard.

Yup 01s did not have that, and no where on paper did it say anything about it.

(Atleast mine)

Its a dealer installed option. You can also buy the kit from Honda and install it yourself. My brothers 01 R came with it, but it was dealer installed.

interesting.. someone PM'd with how to try to get it to work..

if not, I guess I'll have to think about adding it if I really wanted it on there.. probably not worth the expense though, since it's not really street driven..

thanks!

ITRs do not have keyless entry stock, you have to get the Acura alarm (or i guess a keyless entry only) Look under the dash, there should be a kill button there. If there is, it has the alarm, or I guess you can look for the light on top of the steering wheel. But if you didn't get remotes, it proably doesn't have it. If I remember right, mine cost 300 from the dealer... And its all plug and play, took me 3 hours... But I got hung up on something... So it should realistically take you less.

BUT, I don't think its worth 300.

Ahh. This guy knows what he's talking about.

Dealer parts departments can easily "clone" keys and remotes, by the way.
