HELP! is this tranny case useable?

Default HELP! is this tranny case useable?

long story short i bought a new tranny case because i hit a crater and cracked mine. turns out the case i bought is cracked too..




is this thing still useable? or am i SOL.

Is there a particular reason why you bought a cracked transmission?

it is just fine. I have used cases with those scavanging fins completely removed.

They are there to "scrape" oil that is flinging off of the differential. It is not completely necessary to have them. Especially if you have a high horsepower car.

i didnt know it was cracked. i bought the complete tranny, the guy i bought it from said it just had a 3rd gear grind, turns out a little more than that grinded

just be sure that you have all of the broken pieces removed......make sure to check to see if there are any more cracks

lol yeah right before i was about to take pics i pushed on one of the fins and it broke off, thats the one laying there. dont think that would have been a nice sound had i left it in
