Hi,
this is a d15b vtec head(same as z6 prettymuch)
92-95 motor.

I'm just curious wtf these two sensors are/what they do?
I'm assuming the bigger one is water temperature?
but what about the smaller one?

the sensor with the black plucg is the ECT(engine coolant temp)

the other sensor is the fan switch

 

ah,
just found the page in my manual.
it says the little one is the temp. gauge sender
the big one is the TW sensor(i assume that means temp. water)

and then the sensor on the thermostat housing is the thermoswitch..

kinda conflicting info here.

The small one (1-pin) is for the temp guage.

The thermoswitch is for the fans. The TW sensor is the engine coolant temperature sensor for the ECU.
